Have you ever noticed the clothes you’re taking out of the washing machine to put into the dryer have kind of a funky smell to them?
My washing machine is outside in the washroom, which is more of a storage area and isn’t temperature controlled. If it was 100 degrees outside, and I went to put my clothes in the dryer as soon as the wash finished, they smelled. I thought it was the weather causing them to smell that way because it was so hot out. I may be living under a rock, but it never dawned on me that gross mold, mildew and fungus can be growing in my washing machine!
That’s when I came across Smelly Washer. What an awesome name! Straight and to the point! Smelly washer is 100% natural, and it is guaranteed to eliminate washing machine odor, fungus, and mildew from any top load or front load washing machine by simply adding 1 level cap (1 tbsp.) to the detergent dispenser or directly into the tub. Agitate in a hot setting and your washer will CLEAN ITSELF!
The kind people at Smelly Washer sent me a bottle to try and review. The bottle is nice sized, and each bottle contains enough Smelly Washer cleaner for 24 treatments which will last you a year or more depending on how often you use it!
The first thing I noticed when I opened the bottle is that it doesn’t smell. I thought it might be something that smelled strong like chemicals, but it’s not!
It’s really easy to use! You just pour a capful of Smell Washer cleaner into your empty washing machine and run it through on hot. My washer is pretty old (like everything else I own lol) so I decided I needed a soak. I let the tub fill up with hot water, and then I paused the cycle for about 45 minutes to let the Smelly Washer soak for a bit. Then I went out and finished the cycle.
Sure enough, I haven’t had anymore issues of funky smelling clothes. I’ve had the Smelly Washer for awhile. I’ve been using it to clean my machine about once a month or every two months.
It’s septic safe so there are no worries there. You can also add Smelly Washer to your clothes that may have gotten soured to get the smell out.
One more thing I thought was pretty cool is that you can also use Smelly Washer in your dishwasher to eliminate odors!!
You can buy a bottle of Smelly Washer here if you’d like to try for yourself. Smelly Washer retails for $16.99. That’s a great price for a year’s worth of cleaning! Even if you use it to clean your washing machine AND your dishwasher once a month, that breaks down to just $1.41 per month! Not a bad investment at all to naturally and effectively eliminate odors you may not have even realize could exist!
Stick around! I will be starting a giveaway soon so one of you can enter to win a bottle of Smelly Washer to try for yourselves!

How neat. Our washer is in the basement with the wood stove so it also gets to high temps.
